Vehicle Workshop Controller
Who are we looking for? We are looking for a full time Workshop Controller to manage the daily operations of our very busy vehicle workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality work, and customer satisfaction. To include completing the job by means of invoicing where applicable.
Someone with both confidence and a friendly demeanour to oversee a team of fully trained and apprentice technicians, delegate tasks, liaise with other departments, and maintain high standards of work and customer service.
This position is ideally suited to someone with proven mechanical knowledge or previous experience as a workshop controller. This role reports directly to the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Management:
Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the workshop, including workload allocation and productivity. Contributing to the improvement of service processes and workshop efficiency. Ensuring that all repairs and services are completed to the highest standards, meeting both manufacturer and company standards.
Team Leadership:
Supervising and guiding a team of technicians and apprentices, providing technical support and performance management. Encouraging progressive professional development with the team. Liaising with service advisors, other departments, and customers to ensure transparent and concise communication and efficient workflow.
Customer Service: Interacting with customers, both in person, digitally and on the telephone, addressing their technical concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the work carried out.
Leadership Skills: An ability to motivate, guide, and manage a team of technicians. Whilst maintaining a safe and clean working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Organisational Skills: An ability to prioritise tasks, manage workflow, and meet deadlines.
Problem-Solving Skills: An ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues. This includes dealing with the vehicles recovered to site.
