How do I apply for a job?

Click on the tile of the job that you are interested in and complete the online form, submititing your CV and/or completing the attached application form. 

 

What happens next? 

Your interest and details as above will reach key personnel within the Hammond Group who will, where relevant, progress your interest as appropriate. Please note that your details do not get used anywhere else. 

 

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes, but one application will be considered at any one time. If there are two similar roles at different sites, please state your preference for consideration. 

 

What if I don't own a computer or email account? Can I apply by post or in person? 

No problem, but please be aware of your timescales as post isn't as instantaneous as the internet. So be sure to check the expectations of the return when you enquire or collect the form. The HR department can be contacted on 01986 834724. They will either post the application form out or advise where to collect it from. 

 

How can I improve my CV? 

There are many websites that will offer advice on this, a simple search using a search engine will suggest some pages. Alternatively, your local job centre will provide advice or your school/college.

We post our vacancies in a variety of places, the careers section on our website is the best place for viewing our current vacancies in one place.

How long will it take for someone to contact me? 

If your application form is selected for a telephone enquiry or an interview, we aim to do it as soon as business needs allow. Typically, this will be between 7-14 days of your application. 

 

Please note that not every application offers what we are looking for, in this instance there may not be contact. If in doubt after 14 days, please contact our HR department on 01986 834724 where they should be able to provide with futher information. 

 

If I am invited for an interview - what would I wear? 

It never goes amiss to present yourself in the best possible way by means of smart attire. I.e, trousers/skirt and a shirt/blouse with smart shoes. 

 

If my application is unsuccessful, can I apply again? 

You are welcome to apply for another role within Hammond's by all means. Should you add to your skillset or be in a position to add a further qualification . For example, if you were to spot the same role or a similar one becomes available, please ensure you are reapplying with those up-to-date details.

If you require special facilities to attend an interview, please request it from the person who is making contact to arrange the interview.

What documents shall I provide as proof of my eligibility to work in the UK? 

Legally we are required to check your eligibility to work in the UK before we employ you. You must be able to provide a valid passport or a valid UK visa. Only original documents will be accepted. 

 

Who will I report to?

In the first instance, it will always be your direct line Manager, but Dealer Principals, HR and Managing Directors are always willing to assist. 

 

When would I be paid? 

We generate our pay run on the last Friday of the month. 

 

Are there future promotion chances?

We value the skill and attributes of our employees and would encourage individuals to seek promotion where available. 

 

Would I receive training to help my personal career growth? 

Every employee would be trained in their role if required. Progressive training is encouraged and may be mandatory to comply with manufacturers standards. Should there be a business need for any other training it would be arranged.
