In the new Qashqai, Nissan has developed a grown-up SUV that retains the qualities relevant to most drivers, while ditching more unnecessary capabilities of many all-terrain vehicles.
The Nissan Qashqai keeps the road presence of the traditional four-wheel-drive thanks to its black-painted front grille, 18” dual-tone alloy wheels and sculpted bonnet. The raised seating position, meanwhile, offers excellent visibility for the car’s occupants.
The two petrol and diesel engines deliver assured performance and excellent fuel economy, with the impressive 45.6mpg aided by the Stop/Start system which saves fuel by turning off the engine when the car is stationary. CO2 emissions are low for the Qashqai’s class, amounting to just 144g/km. As well as decreasing the car’s impact on the environment, it also helps with running costs. The Qashqai’s road tax will only cost £130 a year.
