Ford Motability Scheme
The government-funded Motability Scheme helps motorists with a disability stay mobile by supplementing the purchase of a high-quality new car. Am I eligible for Motability?
The Motability Scheme is available for anyone currently in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement. Those in receipt that are unable to drive can nominate two drivers, while parents of children with a disability may apply on their behalf.
How does Motability work?
In exchange for all, or part, of your mobility supplement, you can purchase a new car through an authorised Motability dealer, such as AW & D Hammond Ford. With many vehicles not requiring a deposit, it represents a fantastic way to secure a high-quality new vehicle at an affordable price.
After choosing the vehicle you wish to purchase, our Motability experts will guide you through the purchasing process, advising you throughout the application and assisting you in the completion of the necessary paperwork. They will also clearly identify the payments which you are responsible for, ensuring that you are fully aware of your responsibilities.
The purchase scheme for Motability vehicles known as Contract Hire is popular among Motability customers, it enables you to select a new car every three years and features a mileage limit of up to 20,000 miles annually. It includes a number of practical extras too, such as insurance, breakdown cover and road tax. We are still able to adapt the vehicle to your individual needs, choosing the popular items such as steering aids, and wheelchair hoists.
